Instructor Overview

As an instructor or educator, you have the ability to customize Plegma to meet your students' specific needs. You can create new words, organize them into custom categories, and build complete word books tailored to your curriculum.

Managing Words

📝 Adding New Words

To add a new word to the system:

  1. Log in to your instructor account
  2. Navigate to the "Word Management" section from the main dashboard
  3. Click the "Add New Word" button
  4. Enter the word text in the desired language(s)
  5. Select or type an emoji icon to represent the word
  6. Choose the category(ies) where this word should appear
  7. Click "Save" to add the word to the database

✏️ Editing Existing Words

You can modify existing words by navigating to "Word Management", finding the word in the list, and clicking the "Edit" button. You can change the word text, emoji, or category assignments.

🗑️ Deleting Words

To remove a word from the system, find it in the Word Management section and click the "Delete" button. Note: Deleting a word will remove it from all categories and books where it appears.

Managing Categories

📁 Creating New Categories

Categories help organize words into logical groups. To create a new category:

  1. Go to "Category Management" from your dashboard
  2. Click "Create New Category"
  3. Enter the category name in English and Greek (or other supported languages)
  4. Choose an emoji or icon to represent the category
  5. Set the display order (categories are shown in numerical order)
  6. Click "Save" to create the category

🔗 Assigning Words to Categories

After creating a category, you can assign words to it either when creating/editing individual words, or by using the bulk assignment tool in Category Management. Words can belong to multiple categories.

⚙️ Editing Categories

Edit category names, icons, or display order at any time from the Category Management page. Changes will be reflected immediately for all users.

Managing Word Books

📚 What are Word Books?

Word Books are collections of categories tailored for specific students, age groups, or learning objectives. Each book can include any combination of categories, allowing you to create customized vocabulary sets.

📖 Creating a New Book

  1. Navigate to "Book Management" from your dashboard
  2. Click "Create New Book"
  3. Enter a descriptive title for the book in supported languages
  4. Add a brief description explaining the book's purpose or target audience
  5. Select the categories you want to include in this book
  6. Set the display order for categories within the book
  7. Choose whether the book should be public (visible to all users) or private
  8. Click "Save" to create the book

👥 Assigning Books to Students

Once you've created a book, you can assign it to specific students from the Student Management section. Students will only see the categories and words included in their assigned books when using Cards mode.

✏️ Editing Books

You can modify books at any time by adding or removing categories, changing the title or description, or updating category order. Changes take effect immediately for all users assigned to that book.
